Jewish Youth Connection

Jewish Teens Coming Together for Learning and Playing

It can be a little lonely as a Jewish teen in Maine—so the Center for Small Town Jewish Life is excited to offer the Maine Jewish Youth Connection, bringing together YA Jews from across the state for learning, togetherness, and FUN. We are finally fully back to in-person programming!  Check back here regularly for opportunities to gather virtually, learn, and have fun.

And if you don’t want to miss any news from us, sign up for updates here!

JYC teen events this year are September 11, October 30, November 20, January 8, and March 12. Our Shabbaton—to New York City!—is April 27-30. Teens must attend three of five events to be eligible to go on the Shabbaton. If you have any questions, please be in touch— [email protected]. As an important note, this year, we will only be holding programs that have a minimum of registrants.

Bounce! Sunday, March 12, 2023, 2-4 p.m.

Join us for our fifth and final teen event of the academic year. We’ll do our regular text study, enjoy snacks, and get bouncing at Urban Air Trampoline Park, 1129 Union Street, Bangor. The cost of the program is $10 (we are charging more to cover a more expensive event, but cost should never be a barrier—please email Mel Weiss for financial assistance). Teens will need to fill out a waiver—preferably beforehand—which you will find on the registration page.

As a reminder, our scheduled events this year have been on September 11, October 30, November 20, January 8, and March 12. Our Shabbaton—to New York City!—is scheduled for April 27-April 30. Teens must attend three of five events to be eligible to go on the Shabbaton. Registration for the New York trip goes live on March 12. Questions? Contact Mel Weiss[email protected].
